In This Pack

Between the Ocean and Mountain she traveled.
The different terrain brought her Strength.
Yet, the paths brought beauty, too.
She learned how to travel
from her Protector, the Wolves.
She was young when she found a pack
and the respect of each one’s nature
brought much joy to all.

Between the Ocean and Mountain
the Sunset was inspiration
and the connection with the pack
with certain times of the year
a gathering to watch the moon...
and Wolves, women, and men
in this pack’s gathering
as elder’s repeat the saying:
“It is good to realize your limitations
without feeling sorry for yourself,
for there is always something to appreciate
and you are a child of the Protector
with the Strength of the Wolves.

The Sunset of Ocean and Mountain
give beauty to all
and the beauty her Protector, the Wolves
continue to give one day at a time.
Some say as you greet the Sunset:
“Be grateful for another day
and a chance for a new one to begin.”

Played with DEP from Arizona and published with permission.
